We’re delighted to share that "MATI Agrovoltaic Program" has won a prestigious award in the "Renewable Energy Fest 2025" and secured the 3rd position!

"MATI Agrovoltaic Program" aims at finding green solution for Food and Energy security of rural poor people of Bangladesh.

Our Key Goals are:

• Achieving zero emissions at the MATI Eco-Village, home to our organic farm,

• exploring feasibility of Agrovoltaic for solving electricity crises of the rural community

• Minimize land use by combining farming and solar energy production

• Replace diesel/electric irrigation pumps with solar-powered ones

• Build a farmer-led, solar-powered food value chain

• Promote clean energy for battery-driven rural transport

This recognition is a step forward in our mission to make renewable energy work for the people, by the people.

Training on Farmer-Led Development (FLD)

Training on Farmer-Led Development (FLD) at Greenscape

The 1st phase of 6-days long Farmer-Led Development (FLD) training has been successfully completed in MATI’s working area during 19-24 February 2025. The training was facilitated by Mr. Sirajul Haque a consultant and expert on FLD and Mr. Augustin Baroi ex-Program Director of Caritas Bangladesh and expert on FLD program. In the 2nd phase the follow-up the adaptation process of the FLD approach by the staff & community people especially Farmer will be done which will be followed up and supported by the facilitators.

Key Objectives of the Training and FLD approach:

• Empowering farmers

• Strengthening participatory development processes

• Building local leadership

Through this training the process of adopting FLD approach within MATI’s programs especially in Sustainable Agriculture and Farmer Cooperative based Safe Food Value-Chain Development Program. Since inception, Mati has been following Self-defined Sustainable Development approach. This training has added an extra dimension to empowering farmers and strengthening future community-led development initiatives.

Energy, enthusiasm, and excitement filled the air as young champions from Mati Eco Primary School showcased their talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship in the much-awaited Annual Sports Competition

From thrilling races to fun-filled team events, every student gave their best, making this day an unforgettable celebration of strength, spirit, and determination.

The event concluded with a grand prize-giving ceremony, where the shining stars of the competition were awarded for their hard work and dedication. Each trophy and medal wasn’t just a reward—it was a symbol of perseverance, courage, and the joy of healthy competition!

A huge round of applause to all participants, teachers, and supporters who made this event a resounding success! Let’s keep the spirit of sports alive and running
